Manganese Dioxide (MnO2)
MANGANESE DIOXIDE : Manganese dioxide is a black-brown solid occurs naturally with the formula MnO2. Manganese dioxide (MnO2), known as pyrolusite when found in nature, is the most plentiful of all the manganese compounds. The principal ore of manganese dioxide is pyrolusite which was known to the ancients as a pigment.
Salient features of the products :
- 1. Granulated Manganese Dioxide similar to Pyrolox Or Filox R in various sizes from 0.5mm onwards.
- 2. Manganese Granules similar to Manganese Greensand / MTM.
- 3. Specification of Mn02 (Granulated) for water Treatment Industries.
Our Products are suitable for reducing iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide from water through oxidation and filtration.
The principal use for MnO2 is for dry-cell batteries, such as the alkaline battery and the zinc–carbon battery.[4] MnO2 is also used as a pigment and as a precursor to other manganese compounds, such as KMnO4. It is used as a reagent in organic synthesis, for example, for the oxidation of allylic alcohols. MnO2 is α polymorph that can incorporate a variety of atoms (as well as water molecules) in the "tunnels" or "channels" between the manganese oxide octahedra. There is considerable interest in α-MnO2 as a possible cathode for lithium-ion batteries.
